This piece is an amalgamation of some of my favorite elements from the Rocky Mountains in winter, including a January dawn that was -20 F. This big boy was one of the monarchs of Yellowstone that year. The dominant bulls have a certain arrogance to them that they carry even into late winter, as long as they have the antlers to intimidate the lesser males, and I was after capturing some of that here.
